The Rolla Public Library has been awarded a $19,415 grant to replace computers and purchase new software.
The Rolla library is one of two libraries that received technology grants, which are provided through the Library Services and Technology Act.
The grant awarded to the Rolla Public Library will go toward replacing 14 public access computers and seven staff computers that are currently obsolete.
Office software will be added to public access computers for patron use. Other upgrades facilitated by the grant will make the Rolla Public Library eligible to join the Remote Electronic Access for Libraries Program.
“Providing public access to computer resources is an essential service of libraries, and I am proud to support these technology upgrades,” said Missouri Secretary of State Jason Kander. “Missourians of all ages will benefit from these enhancements.”
