A local state lawmaker has been selected to serve on the Missouri House Interim Committee on Medicaid Transformation.
Rep. Keith Frederick, R-Rolla, will serve on the committee, chaired by Rep. Jay Barnes, R-Jefferson City, and Noel Torpey, R-Independence, serving as vice chairman.
The interirm committee will work with the Citizens and Legislators Working Group on Medicaid Eligibility and Reform.
"The members of the working group represent a diverse mix of health care recipients, health care professionals, members of the business community and legislators," said House Speaker Tim Jones, R-Eureka, "These are individuals from both sides of the issue who have an interest in how our system of Medicaid works, and a desire to improve the system so that it provides quality care to those who need it most.
"My office was overwhelmed with the number of suggestions we received for this panel," Jones added. "It is exciting to see Missourians become so engaged in this issue. It is through citizen involvement that we will see the new ideas and innovative solutions that will help us transform our Medicaid system."
