Gladys Lela-Ann Day, of Rolla, passed away Sunday, June 23, 2013 at the age of 88.
She was born in Pulaski County, MO on January 15, 1925 to the late Neval and Rhoda Mae (Davenport) Light.
On October 27, 1941 she married Edwin Earl Day and they were blessed with one child, William Earl Day.
Mrs. Day was a lifelong member of the Apostolic Faith Church of Jerome.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Day, in 1982; four sisters, Fronia Goforth, Hattie Gabel, Juanita Smith, and Helen Smith, two brothers, Wilbert Light and R.J. Light, and an infant brother, Billy Lee Light.
She will be greatly missed by her surviving family which includes her son and daughter-in-law, William Earl and Deborah Lynn Day, of Rolla; one grandson, Travis Michael Edwin Day and fiancée Meredith Myers and their child, Mackenzie, of Rolla; great grandson, Preston Michael Day-Long, of Arkansas; two step grandchildren, Rocky James Smith and Amy Beth Ralls, and five step great grandchildren, all of Arkansas. Gladys is also survived by one brother, Stanley Light, of CA., a host of nieces and nephews, and one very beloved pet, Magic.
A funeral service for Gladys Day will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 28, 2013 at the Null & Son Funeral Home in Rolla, Interment will follow in Ozark Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Rolla. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 27th at the funeral home.
