Below is a list of things happening in and around the Rolla area for Tuesday, June 18, 2013:

"Honey Bees," a Missouri Department of Conservation - Discover Nature Families program will take place Tuesday, June 18. The program will be available to children ages 2-7 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. and for all ages from 6-7 p.m. at Bray Conservation Area, located three miles west of Rolla on Bridge School Road (County Road 7000). The event is free. The everyday routine of a hive will be explored through the art of theater during the evening performance only. Costumes and props will be provided. Young children’s activities also will include a story time.

The Phelps County Genealogical Society will have its monthly meeting Tuesday, June 18, at the Hawkins Cemetery on Liberty Drive  in Rolla at 6:30 p.m., A business meeting will follow at the Archive Room.  The topic will be Witching for Unmarked Graves.  Nadine Schmiedeskamp will be demonstrating how to find unmarked graves and how to tell the sex of the  body.  Also there will be demonstrations on how to clean and read headstones, that is unreadable. Who's New & You Meeting will take place Tuesday, June 18, at Penelope's beginning at 11:30 a.m. The menu will include pizza and salad buffets while the program will be the installation of officers.

Tops and Bottoms-story time for ages kindergarten through third grade will be held Tuesday, June 18, at 1 p.m. at the Rolla Public Library. Karen Clancy, nutrition program associate with the Phelps County MU Extension Center, will be at the library to present a program for kindergarten through third grade about vegetables as part of the library's summer reading program. Teens in grades seven through 12 will create hieroglyphic T-shirts among other fun activities at the Rolla Public Library Tuesday, June 18, at 4 p.m. There will be door prizes. The event is part of the library's summer reading program. More information and registration available at the library.

The Rolla Area Sister City German conversation group (Stammtisch) will meet Tuesday, June 18, from 5-7 p.m. at the Public House Brewing Company, Rolla.
