  • Results of the 2013 DirectionFinder Survey will be presented at tonight’s Rolla City Council meeting.
Chris Tatham, of the ETC Institute, is scheduled to attend the meeting at 6:30 p.m. in the council chambers at Rolla City Hall. Tatham was scheduled to attend the last meeting in May, but weather prevented a trip to Rolla.
The DirectionFinder Survey was conducted to test city residents’ attitudes about the city government and to discern trends in those attitudes. Information from the survey could help the council decide what decisions to make on future issues, such as the financing of the parks and recreation department, including The Centre.
In other business or discussion at tonight’s meeting:
    • Fire Chief Robert Williams will present a couple of resolutions to the council. One would authorize Mayor Bill Jenks to sign a lease with the Rolla Lions Club for the regional fire training facility. The other authorizes him to sign a bill of sale for with the St. James Fire Protection District for the sale of a 1989 Pierce 50-foot telesquirt truck.
•Williams will also present an ordinance to change a portion of a city code regarding fire protection. This is set for first reading only. •City Administrator John Butz will present the council with a motion to change a lease-financing arrangement with the Bank of America to First State Community Bank, which is buying Bank of America facilities in the Rolla area. •The council will also consider a motion to accept a bid for bank depository services presented by Finance Director Steffanie Rogers, a motion to accept a bid for a paint striper presented by Public Works Director Steve Hargis and a motion to accept a bid for Maplewood and Cottonwood street improvements, also presented by Hargis. If that street improvement bid is accepted, the council will also consider a resolution to authorize the mayor to sign an agreement with the company.
•Hargis will also present a resolution to authorize the mayor to sign an agreement with Irvinbilt Constructors Inc. for Southeast Wastewater Treatment Plant disinfection and clarifier improvements.
•The mayor is recommending the reappointment of Councilman Don Morris and Doug Cresswell to the Rolla Enhanced Enterprise Zone board. The council will consider a motion to approve those reappointments.
•A time for Rolla residents to speak to the council will be given.
•The council will meet in closed session to discuss litigation.
