Two Phelps County women were injured after being ejected from the ATV they were riding Friday night west of Edgar Springs.
A Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) crash report states that the driver of the 2001 Honda Rancher ATV, Deeann M. Morris, 32, of Edgar Springs, was airlifted to Mercy Hospital Springfield with serious injuries while Ashley M. Cruey, 21, of Newburg, who was riding the ATV with Morris, was transported by Phelps County ambulance to Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla.
According to the highway patrol, the two were traveling northbound on County Road 6590, approximately six miles west of Edgar Springs, when Morris failed to negotiate a curve. The ATV traveled off the left side of the road and struck a utility pole. Both Morris and Cruey were ejected.
There was extensive damage to the ATV. The crash was reported around 8:05 p.m. June 14.
