  • Lorene Daisy Bennett Hans, 90, of St. James, MO, formerly of rural Montgomery County, MO, died on Saturday, June 8, 2013, at the Golden Living Center in St. James, MO.
    Lorene Daisy Hans was born February 22, 1923 in St. Louis, MO, to William R. Bennett and Mae Johnson Bennett.  After graduating from High School she married Lester Marshall Hans on April 15, 1940 in Union, MO.  Mr. Hans preceded her in death on December 19, 1988.  
     
    Mrs. Hans was a member of the Salem Avenue Baptist Church in Rolla, MO and a former member of the First Baptist Church in Montgomery City, MO.  She was a former Sunday School Teacher, enjoyed playing the piano, playing cards, scrabble, working puzzle books, sewing, and sneaking cats snacks.  Mrs. Hans always enjoyed visiting with her family and friends.
    Mrs. Hans is survived by two sons: James Edward Hans and wife, Sharon, of Rocky Mount, MO; and Gary Lee Hans and wife, Pamela, of Rolla, MO; and two daughters: Lucille Marshall and husband, Ronald of  Rockford, IL ; and Susan Lynn Stripeik and husband, David, of Belleville, IL.  Also surviving  are eight grandchildren:  Laura Louise Hans, Michael James Hans, Paul Matthew Hans, George William Hans, Jr., David Hans, Belinda Hans, Joseph Hans, Elizabeth Hans, Nathaniel Stripeik, Angela Stripeik, Grace Stripeik, Kim Collard, Christine Furwith; many great grandchildren and friends.
    Mrs. Hans was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lester Marshall Hans; and two sons: Lester Eugene Hans and George William Hans.
    Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, June 13, 2013, at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, MO.  The Reverend Jim Cline will officiate and interment will be in the Montgomery City Cemetery in Montgomery City, MO.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday June 12, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, MO.
