Ruth Genevieve Faucett died of natural causes on Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at the age of 89.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 years, Thomas R. Faucett, and her sons John and Dennis. She was the daughter of the late Edward Phelps and the late Margaret Powell. She has left behind her son Tom (Suzanne) Faucett and daughter Ann (Steve) Matteson. She was the loving, and much loved, grandmother to 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, as well as a lifelong friend and neighbor to many.

Ruth will best be remembered as an avid story teller and family historian, a gracious hostess who was happiest with a houseful of guests to feed, and by her infectious laughter and sharp sense of humor.  Her favorite hobbies included playing golf, cooking and traveling the world.
Born in Venita, Oklahoma on October 9, 1923, Ruth moved her family to Rolla, Missouri, in 1960 where her husband worked as the chairman of Mechanical Engineering at University of Missouri–Rolla, now Missouri S&T. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Rolla. Ruth lived in Rolla until she moved to Tucson, Arizona in 2008.

Her lively spirit and generous nature will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her. A private memorial service is planned.
