  • Missouri Foundation for Health (MFH) and the Meramec Regional Planning Commission (MRPC) invite the public to an educational session on the Affordable Care Act (ACA) Wednesday, June 5 ,from 1-3 p.m. at the MRPC office, 4 Industrial Drive, St. James.
    The meeting, hosted by MRPC, will include an unbiased and up-to-date presentation about the ACA, including upcoming health reform changes that will affect local governing bodies in the greater Meramec region, which includes Crawford, Dent, Gasconade, Maries, Osage, Phelps, Pulaski and Washington counties).
    The informational session will provide non-partisan insight on where the state stands on Medicaid transformation and how the health system will be affected by the decision.
    In addition to the presentation from MFH, BPJ Insurance of Springfield will also share information on the different phases of the ACA and what local governments need to do to prepare for some of those deadlines.
    This free session with MFH policy analyst Thomas McAuliffe will also highlight what individuals, businesses and organizations can do to prepare for these changes and what they need to know to navigate the current health care system. Local government officials are also welcome to attend.
