  • Missouri University of Science and Technology will offer an extensive lineup of camps this summer that give students of all ages a chance to participate in hands-on learning activities.

  • Missouri University of Science and Technology will offer an extensive lineup of camps this summer that give students of all ages a chance to participate in hands-on learning activities.
    They can build robots, fly rockets and discover what careers in science, technology, engineering and math involve.
    Requirements listed are for the grades that students are entering in the fall of 2013.
    Aerospace Camp — Students ages 10-13 can spend three action-packed days in the world of space flight and aeronautics. Two sessions will be offered: July 16-18 and July 23-25.
    Building Leaders for Tomorrow — This five-day program will help high school sophomores, juniors and seniors discover the power of communication and hone their leadership skills. The camp will be held June 23-27.
    Camp Invention — This day camp for students entering first through sixth grades will feature hands-on activities that encourage a passion for learning. Two sessions will be offered: July 8-12 and July 29-Aug. 2.
    CyberMiner Camp — High school juniors and seniors can learn about software design, programming and other digital technologies at this five-day camp to be held July 14-18.
    Explosives Camp — High school juniors and seniors age 16 and older can attend this one-of-a-kind camp. Two sessions will be offered: June 9-14 and June 16-21. Students must apply for admission to this camp.
    Formula SAE Electric Car Camp — High school juniors and seniors will learn the fundamentals of electric vehicles and Formula SAE competition. The camp will take place July 7-11.
    Girls Go Green — High school junior and senior girls can explore careers that benefit the environment at this five-day camp, which will be held July 15-19.
    It’s A Girl Thing — Girls entering seventh and eighth grades can discover the possibilities of college life, engineering and science at this five-day camp to be held June 3-7.
    Jackling Introduction to Engineering — High school juniors and seniors have the chance to find out what engineers actually do and their impact on the world at this five-day camp. Students will participate in five different engineering departmental activities of their choice. Three sessions wil be available: June 9-13, June 23-27, and July 7-11.
    Materials Camp — High school juniors and seniors can learn how engineers and scientists turn materials into things we use every day at this six-day camp to be held July 21-26. Students must apply for admission to this camp.
    Minority Introduction to Technology and Engineering — High school juniors and seniors can find out what engineers actually do, their impact on the world and how math and science relate to engineering at this six-day camp designed specifically for underrepresented minorities. Two sessions are available: June 2-7 and June 16-21. Students must apply for admission to this camp.
    Page 2 of 2 - Nuclear Engineering Camp — High school juniors and seniors and those entering their freshman year of college will spend six days exploring the power of the atom and learning about opportunities in nuclear engineering. The camp will be held June 16-21.
    Robotics Camp — Students ages 12-15 will design their own robot and learn programming techniques at this three-day camp to be held June 19-21.
    Sports Camps — A variety of sports camps will be offered with S&T coaches and players. Visit minercamps.com for a complete schedule.
    Summer Research Academy — Rising high school seniors or graduating seniors will work side-by-side with experts while conducting research in their fields of interest. The academy will be held from June 9-July 19. Students must apply for admission to this camp.
    Summer Solutions for Girls — High school freshman and sophomore girls have the chance to discover the possibilities of college life and careers in engineering and science at this five-day camp, which will be held June 17-21.
    Campers attending overnight sessions stay in Missouri S&T residence halls. Sessions fill quickly, so interested students should check for space availability, camp fees, enrollment deadlines and registration forms at summer.mst.edu.
