  • Missouri S&T senior swimmer Andrew Schranck has been named to the Capital One Academic All-District Four at-large team for the 2012-13 season, making him eligible for Academic All-America honors that will be announced next month.
The academic at-large team covers all of the sports that do not have a specific Academic All-America team selected in the Capital One program.
Schranck, an architectural engineering major at Missouri S&T and a four-year member of the Miner program, earned 21 All-America awards during his career and won a pair of honorable mention All-America honors last season as one of seven Miners to compete at the NCAA Division II Championships. Schranck won his awards as part of S&T's 200- and 400-yard medley relay teams.
A month earlier, he captured the title in the 200-yard butterfly at the New South Intercollegiate Swimming Championships – a meet won by Missouri S&T – winning his fourth individual title at the NSISC meet in his career. Schranck recorded five top-four finishes during the 2013 NSISC meet after missing the entire 2011-12 season due to an injury.
Schranck earned six All-America awards in his freshman and sophomore seasons at S&T, then picked up seven in the 2010-11 campaign. His highest finish was a third place effort in the 200-butterfly in his freshman season when he set the school record at 1:48.40. He is also the holder of the S&T standard in the 100-yard butterfly at 48.56 seconds and as part of three relay teams.
Earlier this month, Schranck was named as a co-recipient of the Gale Bullman Award which is given to the top senior student-athlete at Missouri S&T.
