The Xtreme Baseball U13 team from the Rolla area went 4-1 to clinch the championship of the Rawlings Mothers Day Classic last weekend.
Xtreme won by beating Southern Illinois Hustlers 14-2, Midwest Thunder 9-7, lost to Mineral Area Blue 7-12, in semifinal game beat River City Dirtbags 20-5, and in championship game beat Maryville Redbirds 5-2.
Xtreme finished second in its season-opening tournament in Lebanon, Mo. last month. Xtreme went 4-1, beating Springfield Thunder 17-11, Kickapoo Braves 16-4, Springfield Pirates 13-3, Kickapoo Tribe 18-4, before losing to Lebanon Jackets in the championship game 3-12.
Currently Xtreme Baseball is 12-2 on the year, with the same number of games either rained out or snowed out. Last year the team was 65-11 on the year. With all of the rain/snowouts this year Xtreme will probably end up playing 60-70 games, including league games in Columbia with BC Baseball.
This weekend Xtreme is slated to play in the Best of The Midwest 13U tournament in Bridgeton, then in a tournament in Nevada, Mo. the following weekend.
After that Xtreme will be playing in the USSSA State Tournament in Joplin before traveling to Omaha, Neb. to participate in the "Battle of Omaha" Tournament being held during the College World Series. The squad will wrap up the season in Broken Arrow, Okla. for the USSSA World Series.
