Lottie M. Callen of Rolla, Missouri was born March 26, 1918 in Mercer, Missouri to the late Luther and Ollie (Hubbard) Burk, and entered into rest May 14, 2013 in Rolla, Missouri at the age of 95.
Lottie owned and operated Callen’s Market on the corner of Hwy 63 and Hwy 72 for many years. She loved spending time with family. She enjoyed yard work and raising and discussing how to raise flowers. She loved going to the State Fair and Country Western music especially George Jones, Ernest Tubb, Hank Williams and Porter Wagner.
Survivors include her sons Eldon Callen & wife Betty of Arizona, Gary Callen & wife Emie of Newburg, MO, Ernest Callen & wife Audrey of Rolla and Dave Callen of Vienna, MO; sister Pricia Paulkovich of Maryland; grandchildren Brent, Leah, Chad, Ladd, Christopher, Sarah and Dave Callen II; nine great grandchildren; and her loving care taker B.B. along with several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest Callen (2000); brother Clifford Burk; and sisters Beatrice Tallent and Frances Sandlin in addition to her parents.
Services for Lottie M. Callen will be held on Friday, May 17, 2013 at 10 AM at James & Gahr Mortuary in Rolla, Missouri with Rev. Gary Bartle officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 5 to 7 PM on Thursday, May 16 at James & Gahr Mortuary in Rolla, Missouri. Interment will be at Ozark Hills Memorial Gardens in Rolla, Missouri.
