The Dollar General store at the corner of Eisenhower Street and Highway T in Doolittle opened its doors Wednesday, according to Doolittle City Clerk Dene Kirn.
Crystal Ghassemi, spokesperson for Dollar General, could not be reached as of press time Friday, but in February, she said the store would have 7,200 square feet of selling space and would employ six to 10 people.
The Doolittle store is one of 635 new stores the corporation plans to build this year. Along with that, the corporation plans to create 6,000 new jobs in 2013. Work also is continuing on a new Dollar General on Forum Drive in Rolla.
