More postseason honors for Lady Miner senior.

The postseason honors continue to roll in for S&T softball player Kaylea Smith as she was named first team All-Midwest Region catcher for both Daktronics and the National Fastpitch Coaches Association which was announced this weekend.
The Daktronics team was voted on by the region's sports information directors while the NFCA team was picked by the region's coaches.
Smith, a senior from Blue Springs, Mo., led the Lady Miners in hitting (.385), doubles (10), home runs (9) and runs batted in (32). She batted .377 with runners on base and was even better with runners where in scoring position hitting .412. Smith had a slugging percentage of. 725 and had an on-base percentage of .432. She caught all but 17 defensive innings this season throwing out 12 runners trying to steal and picking off four other runners. She committed only four errors in 200 chances.
Smith will move on to the national ballot for the opportunity to be named an All-American on both the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II and Daktronics All-American teams.
