The Phelps County University of Missouri Extension Council meeting will be held Monday, May 13, at 7 p.m. at the Phelps County Extension Center meeting room.
The annual picnic of the Miner Retirees will be held Monday, May 13, at Lions Club Park, Pavilion No. 7. Social time will begin at 4:30 p.m. and dinner will start at 5 p.m. Please bring a dish to share. Meat, drinks, paper plates and utensils will be furnished. New retirees are welcome to attend. A forum will be held May 13 featuring the wives of Phelps County's state legislators by the Republican Women of Phelps County, at Penelope's in Rolla. Those who plan on attending are: Kathy Brown, wife of Sen. Dan Brown, District 16, Marilyn Frederick, wife of Rep. Dr. Keith Frederick, District 121, Carlene May, wife of retired District 149 representative Bob May, and Staci Hurst, wife of Rep. Tom Hurst, District 62. Another possible attendee is Chrissy Ross, wife of Rep. Robert Ross, District 142. All will be speaking about how their lives have been changed by their husbands' elections. A Rolla City Council workshop will be held at 5 p.m. Monday, May 13, at The Centre. The main topic of discussion will be how The Centre’s operation will be financed after the recreation sales tax sunsets on Dec. 31. The workshop is open to the public.
A presentation will be made recognizing Edgar Springs as a Purple Heart city at the Edgar Springs Board of Aldermen meeting Monday, May 13, at 6 p.m.
