Tigers advance to semifinals against No. 1 Sullivan.

The fourth-seeded St. James High School baseball team advanced to the semifinals of the Missouri Class 4 District 9 Tournament by beating fifth-seeded School of the Osage 8-5 in first-round action Saturday.
In the other first-round game on Saturday third-seeded Eldon clipped sixth-seeded Owensville 7-6.
In Class 4 District 9 semifinal games today (Monday) second-seeded Salem (11-7) faces Eldon (8-9) at 1:30 p.m. while St. James (10-14) faces top-seeded Sullivan (17-6) at 4 p.m.
The district championship game is set for 4 p.m. Wednesday.
On Saturday the St. James Tigers erupted for four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to snap a 4-4 tie and take the lead for good.
The Osage Indians scored two runs in the top of the first inning and the Tigers countered with a run in the bottom of the frame.
Osage made it 3-1 with a run in the third and St. James tied things up 3-3 with two runs in the bottom of the inning.
Each squad tallied a run in the fourth before the Tigers took control in the sixth.
Osage (4-15) cut its deficit to three with a run in the top of the seventh but could get no closer.
Senior Jake Ford went the distance to gain the victory on the mound for St. james. Ford scattered eight hits and two walks while striking out a whopping 15.
At the plate Ford went 3-for-4 with a triple and RBI.
The Tigers outhit Osage 13-8. Also for St. James Elye Rogers had two hits and scored twice while Zach Dean had a triple, single and scored a run; Jesse Hays had two hits, two RBI and scored twice, and Justin Ray had two hits and an RBI.
