Nielsen's single was game-winning blow.

Senior Hayden Nielsen's single drove in sophomore Collin Nash with the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning to give the Rolla High School baseball team a 5-4, come-from-behind victory over St. Clair in non-conference action Wednesday on FCNB Field at the Bray Sports Complex.
Rolla improves to 11-12 and was scheduled to end its regular season yesterday with a non-league home varsity-only game against Salem. Fourth-seeded Rolla is scheduled to play fifth-seeded Waynesville at noon on Saturday in the first round of the Missouri Class 5 District 10 Tournament on FCNB Field.
St. Clair fell to 7-16. The two teams have been trying to get the game in since it was first rained out on March 28.
St. Clair bolted to a 4-0 lead over Rolla by scoring three runs in the top of the third inning and one in the fifth.
Rolla trimmed its deficit with three runs in the sixth, highlighted by a two-run single from sophomore Jake Stephens.
The host RHS Bulldogs then won it with two outs in the bottom of the seventh. Junior Seth Stevens opened the rally with a hit. Sophomore Landon Maynard, pinch-running for Stevens, stole second base and then scored the tying run on an error by the St. Clair shortstop off a ball hit by Nash.
Nash stole second base and scored the game-winner on Nielsen's RBI single.
Nielsen and Stevens each had two hits to highlight the RHS offense.
Junior right-hander Tristin Brown went the distance on the mound for Rolla to gain the victory, allowing just one earned run. All three St. Clair runs in the third frame were unearned.
Rolla won the junior varsity game 4-3. Sophomore Weston Davis was the winning pitcher for the RHS jayvee squad, which ended its season on Wednesday.
