  • The Phelps County University of Missouri Extension office will be closed Wednesday, May 8, in observance of President Harry S Truman’s birthday.
    The Rolla Area Chamber of Commerce will hold an educational lunch through its Lunch-n-Learn series about Facebook Wednesday, May 8, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Kaprizio Restaurant,  1212 East Highway 72.     The Ishaya Foundation is sponsoring the First Sphere Retreat, a three-night retreat and workshop, at the Ishaya Foundation Retreat Foundation in St. James. People can choose to attend the event May 10-12 or May 17-19. The course fee is $475 and includes accommodations and meals. Registration will closes 48 hours prior to the course date.     Card games will be held at the Holloway House Wednesday, May 8 at 10 a.m.

    The Young Parents program will host mentor training, with special guest speaker Tippy Duncan, who will speak about the importance of setting boundaries in relationships Wednesday, May 8, at noon at The Community Partnership, 1101 Hauck Drive, Rolla.     The Korean War Veterans Association will conduct its monthly luncheon meeting at the KC Hall on Newman Road Wednesday, May 8, at 11:30 a.m. Speakers from the Fort Leonard Wood Warrior Transition Unit, Ms. Kimberly Huett  and 1st. Sgt. Jose Flores will discuss assistance for wounded warriors.
