How many years have you been a nurse? Nine years.
Why did you decide to become a nurse? I worked at a lumber company that went out of business. This made me take a look at where I wanted to be in the future. I always had a respect for nurses and decided that I would like that career path.
Were/are you inspired by any other nurses? I am always inspired by nurses that I can tell truly love their jobs.
What is the best part of your job? Bedside care. I love taking care of elderly patients, and I really like making patients smile when they are having a bad day.
What is something people may not know about your job? That I am the assistant director of the Transitional Care Unit here in the hospital.
What advice would you give to people who may be considering going into nursing? Nursing is a great field to go into. The work is very rewarding and I can’t imagine doing anything else.
