Rolla Federal Credit Union’s board of directors has hired Scott Shults to lead the credit union as president.
Shults comes to the credit union from a community bank in Salem, where he served as vice president and branch manager.
He has been part of the financial services industry for 10 years, primarily in residential and commercial lending. Shults received his bachelor’s degree from Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield, now Missouri State University.
Shults said he is excited to work in the credit union industry.
“Rolla Federal Credit Union’s philosophy of service to the members is a value that aligns with the goals I am trying to accomplish in my professional career,” he said.
Rolla Federal Credit Union Board Chairman Phil Rufe said he believes Shults’ extensive lending experience will help the credit union thrive in the current economy.
“Our board of directors is looking forward to working with Scott,” said Rufe. “We’re excited about the skills Scott brings to the position.”
A Salem native, Shults lives on a 140-acre farm and raises Angus cattle with his wife, son and daughter. He’s active in his community, where he coaches youth basketball, and in his church, where he serves as a deacon and youth director. Shults also enjoys hunting and fishing.
Shults succeeds Janet Honse, who retired in March.
