The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) will hold an open house community briefing Tuesday,May 14, from 4-6 p.m. to discuss plans to replace the bridge on State Route D over BNSF Railroad and roadway relocation on Route D near Jerome.
The meeting will take place at the Apostolic Faith Church located at 23030 Route D in Jerome. The location is accessible to people with disabilities.
MoDOT proposes to close the road and detour traffic during construction, which is currently scheduled for the 2014 construction season. A contract could be awarded next spring. The details of this project will be discussed in greater detail during the briefing.
The draft 2014-2018 Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) presented to Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission Wednesday, states that the bridge replacement project is estimated to cost $794,000 including engineering work.
The public may meet with MoDOT staff about this work during that time to ask questions and provide comments. No formal presentation is planned.
