The man also might still have marks on his arm where the woman’s dog bit him or marks on his face where she hit him.

“The case is under active investigation,” according to an announcement faxed to the Daily News Friday afternoon. “The public is asked to be extra observant for any suspicious vehicles or persons matching the descriptions in this incident.”

Based on the victim’s reporting, law men are looking for the following:

A short, white man in his early 40s,

Medium-length, dark-bown hair on the man,

A slight beard, a pock-maked face,

Large framed eyeglasses.

The alleged abduction or assault attempt took place sometime Thursday west of Steelville, off Highway 8.

The woman reported she had been walking her dog along the roadway when the man tried to abduct her.
