  • National Day of Prayer Activities for Rolla will take place throughout the day Thursday, May 2. The theme of the event is “Pray for America.” The Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast is at 6:30 a.m. at the Havener Center at Missouri S&T. Speaker is Stanley A. Bower, St. Louis Area Director of Christian Businessmen’s Connection. Special music by Pam Widener. Breakfast Tickets are $12. Contact Emily Barnes, 364-3292, for tickets, or Millie at the Rolla Mayor’s Office. There will be an evening service at First Assembly of God Church, a concert by “All Nations Christian Fellowship Choir” from 6:30-7 p.m.; and a service from 7-8 p.m. where local people will say a prayer for government, church, military, family, education, media and businesses. special music by Beverly Feller and short messages by Pastor Chuck Whitmire and Erin Davis.
     
    A free foot care clinic for seniors will be held at the Holloway House Thursday, May 2. Call (800) 239-1142 for an appointment.
     
    The Piece and Plenty Quilt Guild will meet at 7:15 p.m. Thursday, May 2 at the Presbyterian Church. The program will be a "Trunk Show" by Laura Wasilowski. You do not have to be a member of the guild to attend. Visitors are always welcome. To learn more about the guild, long in to www.pieceandplenty.com.
     
    RANAP/Ozarks Chapter of Central Region Nurse Association will meet Thursday, May 2, from 6-8 p.m. at Tommie’s Cafe, Waynesville. Guest speaker will be Nicole Clauson, CST, MEd., Director of the Surgical Technology Program, Rolla. Bring stubs and proceeds from quilt raffle. All RNs, APRNS, and PAs are invited to attend.
