The Phelps County Commission will hold its meeting Tuesday, April 30, at 7 p.m. at the Newburg City Hall, 191 Main St. in Newburg. All area residents are invited and encouraged to attend these evening meetings to express concerns or to offer comments to county officeholders. A public forum to discuss the authentic dangers of synthetic drugs will take place Tuesday, April 30, at 7 p.m. in room 134 of the Rolla Technical Center, 500 Forum Drive, Rolla.
The Phelps County University of Missouri Extension will offer childcare training from 6-8 p.m. April 30 in the Phelps County Courthouse Multi-Purpose Room.

The Resource Labs are going skating on Tuesday, April 30 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. to celebrate a great year of learning and working hard. Mark Twain, Truman, and Wyman students who are served by the Resource labs will have free admission to The Zone, a slice of pizza or a hot dog and a drink. A listening session that is open to the public is scheduled to take place at Fort Leonard Wood’s Nutter Field House, 1068 Iowa Ave. from 5:30 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, April 30. The meeting will provide the opportunity for the Army to gather additional information regarding the Army 2020 Force Restructure decision. Army officials are asking for community input in order to make the best decisions about reorganization, and to mitigate – as much as possible – the impact on local communities.
Story time is every Tuesday in May at 1 p.m. for preschoolers at the James Memorial Public Library.
