Russell E. Perry lifelong Rolla resident, businessman, mentor, friend and neighbor passed away quietly at his home in Rolla, Missouri Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at the age of 77.

Russ was born October 19, 1935 in Rolla, Missouri to the late Clarence and Ruth (Dean) Perry.

His list of accomplishments in Rolla were amazing. Besides running his clothing store (Russell's Town and College), he was very active in the community. He served as Grand Marshal for the 102nd annual St. Pat's Parade in 2010, was selected in 1978 to be an Honorary Knight of St. Patrick, Honorary Member of the St. Pat's Board, and a member of the Golden Order of the Shillelagh. He was a Kappa Alpha fraternity member and served on the board of Alumnus Advisory Board for many years. Russ was a member of the Christ Episcopal Church and served two rectors as the Senior Warden. He is a past president of the Rolla Chamber of Commerce, and served two years as the Chairman of the city's Planning and Zoning Commission.

 Russ was well liked and respected in the community with his peers and the college students, who often referred to him as "the Dean of Pine Street". Russ never married always stating that he just didn't find the time. He was devoted to his mother Ruth, and lovingly took care of her needs until she passed away in 2003.

Russell E. Perry is survived by his nephew, Gary Gordon Perry, of Sacramento, CA. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Gordon Perry.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 30, 2013 at 11:00 AM in the Rolla Chapel of the James & Gahr Chapel with Reverend Lindy Hardwick officiating. Music will be by Martha Dinsdale. Interment will be in the Ozark Hills Memorial Cemetery, with Jim Earl, David Similey, Jerry Gilmore, Thomas Burrows, Humbert Streddo, and Jim Hennessey serving as pallbearers.  Visitation for family and friends will be held Sunday, April 29, 2013 from 2-5 PM.
