In small-school division of Helias Invitational
The St. James High School golf team placed third in the eight-team small-school division of the annual Jefferson City Helias Invitational, held Monday at Meadow Lake Acres Country Club.
Sullivan won the small-division team title by 11 strokes, with 311. Southern Boone was second at 322 and St. James placed third at 370.
Southern Boone's Walker Kesterson and Sullivan's Tylor Carrico tied for first place in the small-school division with 4-over-par 75. Kesterson took medalist honors in a playoff.
Jake Shockley and Colin Hayes led the St. James Tigers, each shooting 92.
In the large-school division Columbia Rock Bridge ran away with the team title, shooting 299, followed by Jefferson City High second with 329.
Rock Bridge's Jake Knoesel was the large-school medalist with 71.
St. James was scheduled to host Pacific in a Four Rivers Conference match yesterday and is to play at St. Clair on Thursday, starting at 4 p.m.
