All three Rolla elementary schools will hold a Keep Fit Rolla Elementary 5K fun run Saturday, May 11, starting at 9 a.m. at the Rolla Junior High track.
If the track is being used for a “rain day,” the location will be moved to Green Acres Park.
Registration forms are available at the schools or online at Split Second Timing-Rolla, www.runnerspace.com.
All proceeds will benefit the Friday backpack program.
There will be four different race opportunities — a 5K run/walk which is open to all ages, a one-mile run/walk for ages 9-12, a half-mile run/walk for ages 6-9 and a 100-meter dash for ages 5 and under.
The 5K will begin at 9 a.m. and all other events will start at 9:45 a.m. and after. Chip timing for the 5K will be provided by Split Second Timing.
The cost is $20 for all entries in the 5K (regardless of age) and $5 for all other kid events. Registration after April 26 will be $25 for all 5K entries. T-shirts are only guaranteed to those who register before April 26.
Pre-registration is encouraged but not required. Forms can be returned to the elementary school your child attends and checks should be made payable to the school PTO.
There will be awards from the 5K for overall male and female winners and the first male and females in various age groups.
There also will be awards for best overall male and female in the other races and ribbons to all who participate in the kid races. Parents must be present with their child or children who are participating.
Snacks and drinks will be provided at the finish for everyone.
Check-in and/or late registration will be from 8 to 8:45 a.m. The late registration fee will be $25 for all 5K entries.
Childcare will be provided for parents participating the 5K by signing up at the registration table.
