Bulldog boys record three 1st-places.
Powered by three 1st-place finishes, the Rolla High School boys' track team placed third out of 11 teams in the 54th annual Capital City Relays, held Saturday at Jefferson City High School.
Medals were given to the top eight finishers in individual events and the top four teams in relay events.
Senior Alex McCormack led the Bulldog boys' team with a pair of first-place finishes, winning the 110- and 300-meter hurdles. Junior Aaron Froehlich won the triple jump for the Bulldog boys.
Also for the RHS boys, silver medals for second place were won by Froehlich in the long jump; the 1,600-meter medley relay team of Joe Drallmeier, Keagan Chrisco, Jordan Kaden, and Hunter Short, and the shuttle hurdle team of McCormack, Jordan Peterson, Zack Phillips and Laine Marlar.
Fourth places for the RHS boys came from Dalton Rabenau in the 3,200-meter run; the 4x800-meter relay team of James Kosbar, Short, Liam Jennings and Matt Steinmen, and the 4x400-meter relay team of Kosbar, Froehlich, Kaden and Short. Also, the Capital City Relays is one of the few Missouri prep track meets which includes the pentathlon and for Rolla Kane Meek placed fourth in the event, Luke Pettijohn seventh and Jon Knaebel eighth.
The Rolla girls finished eighth in the team standings.
For the Lady Bulldogs the distance medley relay team of Madison Davis, Madison Collier, Joanne Callier and Katie Brow placed second.
Also for the RHS girls, Sophia Holmes was seventh in the long jump and taking eighth were Cambria Ryckman in the triple jump and Marin Beck in the pentathlon.
The Bulldogs will spilt their squad on Tuesday, with the junior varsity squad traveling back to Jefferson City for a dual meet and the varsity squad going to Washington for the Russel Nix Relays.
