  • Opening up the action for the spring session of the Rolla Parks & Recreation Department's girls' 7-8 grade basketball league Saturday at The Centre:
    In Game One on April 6th, the Hall of Famers defeated Steelville 43-14. Elizabeth Parkinson led the Hall of Famers with 22 points. Steelville was led by Hutson and Schneider combining for 10 points, scoring 5 points each.
    In Game Two the Hoopsters defeated Steelville 64-17. Abbie MIller led the Hoopsters in scoring with 22 points. Hutson was the leading scorer for Steelville with nine points.
    Game Three of the afternoon was the closest game of with the final score only being a three-point difference between the two teams. The Hall of Famers defeated the 7th Grade Lady Bulldogs 26-23 the game was back and forth all game long. Dani Martin led the Hall of Famers with 13 points and Mattie Dean led the 7th Grade Lady Bulldogs with 6 points.
    In Game Four Salem defeated Hoopsters 41-21. Free throw shooting hurt the Hoopsters making only 1 of 13 attempts. Pryor was the leading scorer for Salem with 12 points. Morgan Moss led the Hoopsters with 7 points.
    In the final game of the afternoon, Salem squared off against the 7th Grade Lady Bulldogs. The Lady Bulldogs made a late push in the second half but it was too little to late as Salem already had a demanding lead. Salem won the game over the Lady Bulldogs 48-29. Nash was the leading scorer for Salem with 16 points and Atheena Temple led the 7th Grade Lady Bulldogs with 13 points.
