Alvin Arlie Duncan, of Rolla, was born May 16, 1926, near Vienna, a son of Archie Monroe and Mattie Elizabeth (Wiles) Duncan, and departed this life on Thursday, April 4, 2013, at his residence in Rolla. Mr. Duncan had attained the age of 86 years, 10 months, and 18 days.

Mr. Duncan was united in marriage in 1950, in Arkansas, to Betty Lavern McCormick. He was later united in marriage to Eula Marie Minzes Jordan on March 19, 1983, in Rolla. In addition to his wives he was preceded in death by one son, Michael Wayne Duncan on January 26, 2001; two grandsons, Michael Duncan on January 6, 2010 and John Lee Duncan on December 13, 1972; and two step sons, Bobby and Lenny Jordan.

Mr. Duncan was a member of the First Community Church of God, Rolla. He was baptized early in life in the Little Maries River while attending the Lambeth Church near Vienna. He was a power plant engineer at the Missouri Science and Technology University (UMR), Rolla, for fifteen years retiring in 1989 and had worked at the Brown Shoe Company, Rolla, prior to his employment at UMR. He adored his grandchildren, enjoyed going to breakfast with his son, watching ball games and just being with his family.

Those left to mourn the passing of Mr. Duncan include: Two sons, Everett Duncan and wife, Jackie, Rolla; and Robin Duncan and wife, Debbie, Springfield; three step-sons, Raymond, Jordan, Paul Jordan, and John Jordan and wife, Karen; one step-daughter, Helen Litz and husband, Allen; six grandchildren, Joshua Duncan and wife, Carol, Royal Oak, Michigan; Marissa Duncan, Rolla; Christopher Duncan and wife, Mehgan, Rolla; Christy Marcolla and husband, Michael, Eldon; Wendy Spurgeon and husband, David, Highland; and Shawn Duncan and wife, Cat, Rogersville; fifteen great-grandchildren; seventeen step-grandchildren; nineteen step-great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be conducted for Mr. Duncan at 1:00 P.M., Monday, April 8, 2013, in the Vienna Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes, with Rev. Dan Phillips, First Community Church of God, Rolla, officiating.

Visitation will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Monday, April 8, 2013, in the Vienna Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes.

Interment will be in the Vienna Public Cemetery, Vienna, under the direction of the Vienna Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes.
