Switchfoot will be the headliner at this year’s Miner Mayhem concert at Missouri University of Science and Technology. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, April 6, at the Gale Bullman Multi-Purpose Building.
The Rolla Saddle Club will be hosting vet day Saturday, April 6, at 9 a.m. This event will be held at the club grounds on Highway Y, off Highway E, about one mile on the right. There will be a reduced rate for coggins test and annual shots as well as free clinics to include barrels, grooming and western pleasure.

A boating safety certification course will be offered to the public Saturday, April 6, from noon to 6 p.m. at the MSHP Troop I headquarters, 1301 Nagogami Road, Rolla. There is no fee for this course, but students are required to pre-register online, as seating will be limited and notification may be sent in the event the course is canceled. The Performing Arts Series at Ozark Actors Theatre will host The Basement Tapes: Live! on Saturday, April 6, at 7:30 p.m. at the Cedar Street Playhouse. Three bands will play on the Cedar Street Playhouse stage as part of this LIVE presentation of The Basement Tapes: Diezelfitter (blues), Madora (alternative rock), and SinnerSaved (Christian rock).

All you can eat biscuits and gravy, pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon at the Houston House starting at 7 a.m. April 6. Cost is $8 per person.
The South Central Missouri Chapter of the Federation of the Blind will meet April 6 at Presbyterian Manor, 1200 Presbyterian Homelife, Rolla, in the activity room. Parking is usually available next to the central garden entrance to the Manor. Meetings generally last about an hour. We invite vision-disabled people to this support group to share coping experiences and fun stories. The public is invited to Sinks Pharmacy on 10th Street Saturday, April 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. to help reach a goal by donating to sponsor employee Linda Umlauf and her daughter, Amy Umlauf, participating in a three-day, 60-mile breast cancer walk in Chicago. The proceeds from the walk will support breast cancer research, education, screening and treatment through the Susan G. Komen Foundation and National Philanthropic Trust Breast Cancer Fund.

The Rolla Apartments semi-annual flea market will be held Saturday, April 6, from 8 a.m. to noon at 1101 McCutchen Drive. There will be jewelry, baby quilts, bibs of all sizes, hand-crafted items, antiques, glassware, wall pictures and clothing among other items.
