Jack Mueller and M.J. Buschmann made it a clean sweep.
Buschmann, of the St. james High School girls' basketball team, and Mueller, of the Tiger boys' squad, were named to the Missouri Sportswriters/Sportscasters Association Class 3 All-State Team, it was announced this week.
Both Mueller and Buschmann were named to the Sportswriters' all-state second-team.
It's the second all-state team selection for the St. James duo. Both were selected to the Missouri Class 3 All-State Team by the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association last month.
Buschmann, a 5-10 senior forward, helped the Lady Tigers advance to the Class 3 State Tournament Semifinals, finishing in third place and posting a 26-5 record. She returned from knee surgery to average 16.6 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.8 steals for the Lady Tigers last season, shooting 46 percent from the field and 31 percent from three-point range.
She is scheduled to announce where she will play her collegiate basketball next week.
Mueller, a 6-7 senior forward, was a main force in powering the Tigers to a 24-4 record. St. James was 21-1 before Mueller went down with an ankle injury late in the season. He returned in the district semifinals and finals, as the Tigers fell to eventual Class 3 Semifinalist Fatima.
He averaged 16.1 points, 10.0 rebounds and 4.1 blocks to pace St. James.
