Robert Leroy King, lifelong Rolla resident, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2013 at the age of 83.
He was born in Rolla on September 28, 1929 to the late G. Edward and Clara Glen (Cowan) King.
On April 27, 1954 he married Jewell Dawson, and they were later blessed with three sons. His wife, Jewell, preceded him in death on March 19, 2006.
Mr. King was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in Korea from 1947-1951. He enjoyed working on his farm where he successfully raised cattle and crops for many years.
He was a longtime active member of the Rolla MFA.
He will be greatly missed by his surviving family which includes his three sons and daughters-in-law, DeVerne and Judy King, of Rolla, Michael and Catherine King, also of Rolla; and Patrick and Michele King, of Farmington, MO; six grandchildren, six great grandchildren, other extended family members and many dear friends.
A funeral service for Robert King will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at the Null & Son Funeral Home in Rolla. Interment will follow in the Rolla City Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 2nd at the funeral home.
