Gene F. Hoffman, of St. James, Missouri passed away Friday March 29, 2013 at his home at the age of 81. Gene was born September 10, 1931 in Vessie, Missouri to the late James and Francis (Huskey) Hoffman.
Gene Hoffman was united in marriage to Frances Hunter on December 24, 1957, and to this union two daughters were born. Gene worked for the U. S. Forest Service until his retirement. He loved to garden and coon hunt. His greatest joy came from the daughters he and Fran had raised, providing them with three grandchildren. Gene loved every moment that he spent with his family, just visiting or riding 4-wheelers. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend and will be greatly missed.
Originally from Newburg, Missouri, Gene is survived by his wife Frances Hoffman, of the home; daughters, Catherine Macormic and husband James, of Rolla, MO, and Constance Hoffman, of Chicago, Illinois; grand-children, Joshua Stewart, Whitney Macormic and Bryce Luther, a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. In addition to his parents Gene was preceded in death by his brothers, Vernie and Junior Hoffman, and sister Sylvia Gilbert.
Funeral services for Gene F. Hoffman will be held at 10 AM Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at the Rolla Chapel of the James & Gahr Mortuary with Pastor Paul Smith officiating.
