Born March 16, 1931 in Kirkwood, MO, Mac Conway was the great, great grandson of Captain Joseph Conway, an early settler of what is now known as Chesterfield, MO. Conway Road in Chesterfield and St. Louis was named after Captain Conway.
Mac is survived by two sons, Jeff Conway of Madeira Beach, FL, Doug Conway of Santa Barbara, CA, a daughter, Stacy Conway of O’Fallon, MO, a brother, Das Conway of Chesterfield, MO and a sister, Mrs. Jack (Barbara) Harris of Rolla, MO.
Mac graduated from the University of Missouri, Columbia with a Bachelor of Science in Statistics and from the University of Chicago with a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. He received an Honorable Discharge after serving in the Korean War as a First Lieutenant in the Army. He worked for International Harvester for 27 years. During that time he was in charge of manufacturing in Europe. He later owned and operated CTC Technologies in McAllen, TX.
Family and friends are holding a Farewell Party on March 30, 2013 starting at 12:00 pm at the Hampton Inn & Suites at 5 McBride and Son Center Drive, Chesterfield, MO 63005, banquet room.
