While most of the Rolla area was spared major damage from Sunday's storm, one Rolla woman wasn't so lucky.
Around 11 p.m. Sunday night, Teresa Meraz was in her North Oak Street home and heard a loud crash outside.
Meraz rushed out the door and saw a large tree had fallen in her yard, crushing a Cadillac and damaging a Pontiac Grand Prix.
"I thought both my cars were totaled," she said. "I cried."
The tree missed the house completely.
"I guess that's the only blessing," she said.
Monday morning her family was working on cutting the tree up and removing it from on top of the cars. The Cadillac appeared to be totaled. The tree broke the Pontiac's back window when it fell.
Meraz does not yet know how much her insurance will cover on both the cars.
The storm that moved through the area Saturday night and Sunday brought thunder, lightning, sleet, snow and hail along with it much-needed rain.
