Wellesley Female Seminary Incorporated

A charter for the incorporation of The Wellesley Female Seminary was issued to Henry and Pauline Durant on March 17, 1870, by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. By the time the school opened in 1875, the name had been legally changed to Wellesley College.
