  • More than 650 students are attending classes at East Central College’s Rolla campus this semester, an increase of more than 5 percent compared to last spring.
However, the overall number of students who attend ECC, including main campus in Union and other sites, is down for the spring semester.
“The number of students enrolled in credit classes was down slightly for the 2013 spring semester compared to last spring,” said Dr. Jon Bauer, ECC president. “Our final spring census figures show 4,188 students enrolled, a 1.5 percent decrease from 2012.”
The students enrolled in 38,572 credit hours for the spring 2013 semester, a drop of 0.3 percent compared to spring of 2012.
In the fall of 2012, ECC enrolled more than 4,000 in credit classes for the seventh consecutive semester. However, the 4,043 students registered for the 2012 fall semester was a 2 percent decrease from the fall of 2011.
During the fall 2012 semester ECC students were enrolled in 39,383 credit hours, a drop of 2.3 percent compared to fall 2011. Over the past five fall semesters, student headcount has increased 12.6 percent and credit hours have increased 18.2 percent.
The majority of ECC students take classes at the main campus in Union, with the second most enrolled at the Rolla campus. ECC also offers classes in Washington, Mo., Warrenton and Sullivan.
