The University of Missouri Extension of Phelps County will offer a seminar called “Starting Seeds Indoors,” for area gardeners Tuesday, March 12, from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Phelps County Extension Center located at the Phelps County Courthouse, 200 N. Main St., Rolla. The cost for the program is $6 payable in advance at the Phelps County Extension Center. Due to limited seating and to ensure adequate handouts and other program materials, participants are asked to pre-register and pay by March 5. Patrick Greenwald, horticulture specialist with the Phelps County Extension, will teach the seminar. To reserve a seat call the Phelps County Extension Center at 573-458-6260.
U.S. Sen. Roy Blunt’s staff will host a Listening Post meeting Tuesday, March 12, from 10-11 a.m. at the Phelps County Courthouse, 200 N. Main St., Rolla. Listening Posts are intended for Missourians to share their questions and concerns during meetings with members of Sen. Blunt's staff. Chapter KU of P.E.O. will meet at 1 p.m. on March 12. The hostess will be Dorothy Reynolds and the co-hostess will be Susan Barker.
Rolla Lioness Club will meet Tuesday, March 12 at the Lions Club Den. Board will meet at 6 p.m. followed by the general meeting at 7 p.m. Program will be the annual Lions Appreciation dinner.
