The Sullivan High School girls' basketball team and the St. Francis Borgia boys' squad were the winners of Wednesday's Missouri Class 4 Sectionals games held at Missouri S&T's Gale Bullman Multi-Purpose Building.

The Sullivan High School girls' basketball team and the St. Francis Borgia boys' squad were the winners of Wednesday's Missouri Class 4 Sectionals games held at Missouri S&T's Gale Bullman Multi-Purpose Building.
The Sullivan Lady Eagles, of the Four Rivers Conference, built a 10-point lead after three periods and held on to defeat Bolivar 51-41.
And in the boys' game Borgia 6-1 senior guard Jordan Miller canned an 18-foot jumper at the buzzer to give the Knights a 47-45 victory over the Springfield Hillcrest Hornets of the Ozark Conference.
The Rolla Sectional survivors advance to Missouri Class 4 Quarterfinal action Saturday at Springfield on the campus of Drury University.
In Saturday's quarterfinals the Borgia boys (20-8) face Republic (27-4) at 1 p.m. while Sullivan (24-4) meets Webb City (23-5) at 2:45 p.m. in the girls' game.
In sectional action Wednesday at Ozark the Republic boys defeated Carl Junction 62-42 and the Webb City Lady Cardinals stopped West Plains 57-42.

Girls
Sullivan 51, Bolivar 41
The Bolivar Liberators pulled out to a 12-8 lead after the first period.
However, Sullivan's defense limited Bolivar to just five points in the second quarter, allowing the Lady Eagles to take a 20-17 halftime advantage.
Taylor Lucas, a 5-8 junior forward, erupted for 11 points in the third period to allow the Lady Eagles pull out to a 37-27 lead entering the fourth quarter.
Getting seven points from 5-7 sophomore guard Randi Hancock and a three-pointer by 5-7 junior guard Shelby Roberts, the Liberators closed to within four points midway through the fourth period.
However, Sullivan converted 9-of-15 free throws in the final period to keep the lead.
T. Lucas finished with 22 points to pace Sullivan while 5-9 junior guard Sierra Pryor added 11.
Hancock tallied 15 points – 13 in the second half – for Bolivar, which ends at 19-8.

Boys
Borgia 47, Hillcrest 45
Hillcrest canned a three-pointer late to tie the game, one of three treys the Hornets hit in the final period. On the final possession Miller fired up a jumper just inside the the free throw circle.
The shot swished through the basket at the buzzer to give Borgia the victory.
Hillcrest took a 12-10 lead after one period but scored just four points in the second quarter and trailed 19-16 at intermission. Miller and 6-3 senior guard Casey Kuchem each hit a three-pointer and finished with five points in the period as the Knights outscored Hillcrest 18-16 in the third quarter to take a 37-32 edge into the final frame.
Kuchem finished with 16 points and Miller added 14 for Borgia.
Braden Petry, a 6-1 sophomore guard, had 12 points for Hillcrest, which ends with a 22-6 mark.
