  • Recently, Associate Circuit Judge Kenneth Clayton formally appointed Carol Myers and Pat Mihalevich as new Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of South Central Missouri.

Pat and Carol will now officially act as officers to the court for Abused and Neglected Children. The CASA of South Central Missouri Program was happy to welcome this husband and wife team to their program.
When asked why they decided to become involved with the CASA program, Carol and Pat both agreed, “They want to make a difference in the lives of our foster children.”
Volunteers working as a husband-wife team have many benefits. They can provide to the children of abuse and neglect a positive role model. Some of these children may not have experience with many healthy, happily married, family members. They can also work as a team to best advocate for a child’s best interest and divide duties based on strengths and interests.
CASA of South Central Missouri serves the 25th Circuit (Phelps, Pulaski, Texas and Maries). They are currently seeking volunteers in the Phelps and Texas County areas. For more information on becoming a volunteer contact the CASA office at 573-458-6240 or by email cscmo@fidmail.com.
