Judith Rankin Bieger, age 57, died in Hamburg, New York on February 12, 2013 succumbing to her long-standing battle with a multiplicity of diseases.

Judy was born on July 20, 1955 in Gary, Indiana to William Rankin and Betty Smith Rankin.  While growing up, she had the good fortune to live in many places and graduated from Orchard Park High School in Orchard Park, New York in 1973.

During her adult life, she had worked as a teller in the banking and financial business and had spent several years caring for her elderly grandmother and mother until their deaths.  She had the misfortune to develop significant and debilitating illness at a relatively young age, but persisted in her enjoyment of life and meeting and caring for friends.  She was quite skilled with her ability to create lovely objects using thread crochet and enjoyed making gifts for others.

Survivors include her son, David Gordon Bieger, daughter-in-law, Virginia Primm Bieger, and grandchildren Leigh Anne and Tucker Gordon Bieger, of Las Vegas, Nevada.  She is also survived by her brother, Harry Rankin, sister-in-law, Jody Powers and nephew, Edward Rankin, of Saint Robert, Missouri, as well as many other nieces, nephews, and cousins.  She is preceded in death by her parents.

As a final act of generosity, Judy donated her body to the School of Medicine at the University of Buffalo. The family requests that any memorials or acts of remembrance be made by donating to the American Heart Association, local breast cancer awareness charities, or the University Of Buffalo School Of Medicine.

During her life, Judy made many wonderful friends.  The family and friends have lost a good and caring loved one and friend. Remember her as living in the hearts of those she touched…for nothing loved is ever lost and she was loved so much.
