  • Martha Ann Skelton, of Rolla, passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at the age of 77.
     
    She was born on January 18, 1936 in Holly Springs, MS to the late Harold Crowder and Louise (Nichols) Crowder. On March 14, 1958, she married John Skelton who survives of the home.
     
    Martha taught at the Rolla Vocational Technical School in the L.P.N. program for several years. She was them employed as an R.N. at the Phelps County Regional Medical Center for over 10 years.
     
    She and John joined the Salem Ave. Baptist Church in the fall of 1963 where she served as a Sunday School teacher. Martha was an avid Cardinals fan and followed her boys to many of their ball games. She worked very hard to research the family history of both the Skelton and the Crowder families.
     
    In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her son, Mark Skelton in 1996, and her brother, Nick Crowder.
     
    Martha will be greatly missed by her surviving family which includes: her husband, John Skelton of Rolla; four sons, John S. Skelton and wife Charlotte of Rolla, Steve Skelton of Raymore, MO, Scott Skelton and wife Cathy of Rolla, and Paul Skelton and special friend Lori Wofford of Salem, MO; daughter-in-law, Norma Skelton of Booneville, MO; one brother, Russell Crowder and wife Mary Ellen of FL; one sister, Jo Jackson of FL; ten grandchildren, Justin McPherson, Jeff McPherson, Jessica Skelton, Mark Skelton, Sarah Skelton, John Robert Skelton, Blake Skelton, Taylor Skelton, Kellsey Skelton and McKenzie Skelton; several nieces and nephews; and many, many friends.
     
    A funeral service for Martha A. Skelton will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 11, 2013 at the Salem Ave. Baptist Church in Rolla. Interment will follow in the Rolla City Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at the Null and Son Funeral Home.
    Memorial contributions are suggested to the Salem Ave. Baptist Church.
