The Rolla area is experiencing a nice, warm Monday, but don't expect this weather to stick around for long.
According to National Weather Service Meteorologist Andy Boxell out of Springfield, the warm weather will still be in the area Tuesday, but we will be back to normal temperatures Wednesday.
Overnight tonight and into tomorrow morning he expects showers to move into the area, making for a rainy Tuesday.
Throughout the day Tuesday, there is a possibility of strong to severe thunderstorms, but they will be isolated and the worst of the storm should pass to the south of Rolla.
"It's not looking like a severe weather outbreak," said Boxell. He said there is the potential for damaging straight-line winds and possibly a tornado. He said if that does happen, the incidents will be few and far between.
After the storm system moves through the area, temperatures will return to normal for this time of the year.
"We may see some light flurries on the back side of this system," said Boxell. "It's going to feel like a pretty chilly end to the work week."
