A Laquey High School who allegedly made deadly threats was taken into custody Wednesday by Pulaski County sheriff’s deputies.
There were no weapons located on the school grounds and no reported injuries.
Shortly before noon Wednesday, Jan. 23, the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department responded to Laquey High School in reference to the student.
According to school officials, a juvenile student in their facility was making threats of bodily injury to several students by use of a firearm, both verbally and via electronic communications.
Once the sheriff’s deputies arrived, the student was taken into custody and turned over to a Pulaski County juvenile officer.
No other information about the student is being released at this time and the incident is currently under investigation.
Pulaski County Sheriff Ronald Long said Laquey school officials can be commended for their efforts to immediately resolve the situation and render their school safe.
