Baby, it's cold outside.
But next month, there will be a reason for freezin,’ as the Emergency Worker's Relief Fund and the St. James Ambulance District will host a 5K walk/run fundraising event for a friend in need.
SJAD Paramedic/Firefighter Chris Bono, who was recently diagnosed with cancer, needs help with his medical expenses, and the community has responded with this nighttime event, which will be held Feb. 23 at Nelson Hart Park.
Sign-in will begin at 5:30 p.m., and the event starts at 6:30 p.m. The theme of this first annual event is "Freezin' for a Reason."
"Participants are encouraged to dress up, wear costumes, let the people of St. James know who we are and prize(s) will be given for the best costume," according to the SJAD Facebook Page.

n Costumes are encouraged!!! This event may also involve paint, powder, or foam. Please dress accordingly...
n Freezin' for a Reason is open to all ages, children welcome. Minors MUST be accompanied by an adult
n Race will be timed for those who wish to keep track of their time. Route will be posted online before race

Pre-registration cost is $30 per person, $50 per couple and $20 per child (ages 6-18). Children 5 and under are free. The cost is $40 per person on the day of the event.
