A couple from Elk Creek was seriously injured in a crash Monday afternoon, Jan. 21, with a Missouri State Highway Patrol vehicle.
According to a MSHP report, a 2011 Ford Crown Victoria patrol car driven by Sgt. George Falterman, 53, of Licking, was traveling northbound on U.S. Highway 63, about three miles south of Licking, when it turned into the path of a southbound 2001 Volvo driven by William J. Senf, 69, of Elk Creek.
Senf and a passenger, his wife Sharon, who is also 69, were both taken by air ambulance to Cox South Hospital in Springfield for serious injuries.
Falterman was taken to Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston by a patrol vehicle for minor injuries.
Both vehicles were totaled in the crash. All three involved were wearing seat belts. The crash occurred around 4:25 p.m.
