  • The driver of a tractor-trailer is apparently OK, escaping with only minor injuries after the truck was struck by a train.

The Southeast Missourian (http://bit.ly/Wbjf8o ) reports that the accident happened Monday morning in Cape Girardeau County. Police say the Burlington-Northern Santa Fe train struck the trailer, knocking the cab loose. The trailer was dragged for at least a quarter of a mile.

The truck driver was taken to a hospital, but authorities say he did not appear to be badly hurt.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
