Two Southwest Missouri bluegrass bands will perform a winter concert near Dixon Saturday night.
"Bluegrass in the Barn" is the name of the event, Brightwater Junction and Rural Routes are the names of the acts booked into The Barn, according to Barn owner Bill Johnson.
"We do a couple of these a year," Johnson said of concerts with Missouri bands as the headline acts. He stressed the concerts are family oriented in a setting with "down home feeling."
Johnson said the barn, which is on his property, 2 miles south of Dixon on Highway 28, seats 350 people. Food is offered for sale. No alcohol is allowed, and smoking is banned.
"They're pretty big in the bluegrass community," Johnson said of the two bluegrass bands scheduled to play Saturday night.
In addition to owning the barn, Johnson is also a founding member of The Baker Band, a classic country band, which plays regular shows at the barn each year.
Saturday night, the doors to the barn open at 6 and the show starts at 7. Admission fee is $20 per person.
The barn has hosted concerts by well-known country musicians Gene Watson, John Conlee and Leona Williams, as well as bluegrass star Rhonda Vincent.
"It's kind of a unique place," Johnson said.
